Julianne Negri is an award-winning writer and library worker living on the unceded land of the Wurundjeri people. Her debut children’s novel, The Secret Library of Hummingbird House, was a 2021 CBCA Notable and 2022 saw the publication of the Aussie Stem Star biography, Veena Sahajwalla; Green Engineer and Recycling Champion. Julianne’s debut picture book, Almost a Fish, illustrated by Evie Barrow, was released in May 2024 and won the Australian Speech Pathology award for Best Picture Book. In the spirit of always trying something new, her YA verse novel The Belly of a Wolf was published with UWAP in 2026. Julianne is a passionate advocate for children’s literature and has five children.
