Not every disability shows visual signs. Some disabilities are hidden, but they can significantly impact how people experience the world.
We want AlburyCity to be a leader in offering an inclusive and accessible community for people to visit, live, work and play. Creating an accessible, safe city for everyone means providing every person with a disability the space and assistance they need, when they need it.
​Not every disability shows visual signs. Some disabilities are hidden, but they can significantly impact how people experience the world.
Hidden disabilities may include conditions such as:
- Mobility
- Mental health
- Learning difficulties
- Speech
- Visual impairments
- Hearing loss
They can also include respiratory and chronic conditions that significantly impact day to day life experiences.
To make Albury more inclusive for everyone, we've partnering with Bayley House to launch the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower scheme – an effective and discreet way for people with hidden disabilities to signal that they may require assistance at events, businesses and on public transport.
People with a hidden disability will be able to pick up wearable products such as lanyards, pins and wrist bands with sunflower branding for free from locations across the city.
Our People will also wear the symbol to show that they have completed dedicated training and are able to provide assistance to people with hidden disabilities.

Our people at AlburyCity have undergone specialised training and can wear a Sunflower Symbol to signify they can offer assistance.
