Council to seek community feedback on 2025 Australia Day activities

Albury City Councillors have endorsed a stakeholder engagement plan for community consultation about the citizenship ceremony and other activities held on Australia Day 2025, which follows a motion carried by Council at its meeting on 28 October 2024.

“This is a great opportunity for the community have their say on what they think about the Citizenship Ceremony and other activities held on Australia Day 2025 at Noreuil Park,” said Albury Mayor, Kevin Mack.

“Join me at Noreuil Park and experience the community spirit as we acknowledge everyone who is part of our wonderful community in and around Albury, then Have your Say about what you enjoyed and what we might be able to do better.”

Mayor Mack said consultation with the community would begin with face-to-face engagement during the events on Australia Day, with QR codes accessible for everyone at the events that will link to the online Have your Say survey.

The survey will also be accessible on the Have your Say page of the AlburyCity website.

Hard copies of the survey will also be available during the engagement period at the Council offices in Kiewa Street, at the Albury LibraryMuseum and Lavington Library, and at AlburyCity community centres.

“We encourage as many people as possible across our community to have their say about the success or otherwise of the activities held on Australia Day 2025, with information and reminders promoted widely on Council’s media channels and our electronic newsletter,” said Mayor Mack.

Consultation and engagement with the community will take place over 34 days from 26 January to 28 February 2025, with the outcomes of the consultation to be reported to Council in March 2025.
