Exhibition celebrates Dame Lynley

The Albury LibraryMuseum is honouring one of the world’s most popular children’s authors, with an exhibition and activities celebrating the works of Hairy Maclary creator, Dame Lynley Dodd.

10 Feb 2020

Hairy Maclary and other characters, Slinky Malinki, Bottomley Potts and Scarface Claw, will be featured in the exhibition of more than 50 original artworks by Dame Lynley.

Charting her early work and including some of her lesser-known characters, the Lynley Dodd Story will be on exhibition from 8 February to 26 April.

Associated activities will include a special children’s story time, a floor talk with exhibition curator Penelope Jackson, and a tour of the exhibition for the NSW Seniors Festival. There will also be a special Hairy Maclary Family Fun Morning on Saturday 8 February from 10 am – 12.30pm, and a chance to meet the author when Dame Lynley visits Albury in March.

Our real-life furry friends won’t miss out either. There’ll be a day out for dogs including tricks, live music, face painting and a cartoonist at QEII Square on Saturday 7 March.

The exhibition opens on Saturday 8 February.
