Introducing Lucy Smyth

Lucy Smyth is a Dublin-born multidisciplinary artist based in Northeast Victoria, working across illustration, painting, and textile art. A natural storyteller, she studied Film and Television Production, graduating in 2010. During her studies she developed a strong interest in storyboarding and visual narrative.

After moving to Australia, Lucy began exploring painting, mixed media and digital art, gradually developing a distinctive style. From 2014 to 2018, she split her time between Dublin and Australia, building a freelance illustration practice and embracing a broad, multidisciplinary approach.

Since settling permanently in Australia in 2018, Lucy has continued to evolve her practice. A member of both Illustrators Ireland and Illustrators Australia, her work spans editorial illustration, book and surface design, and textile-based art—reflecting her versatility and creative depth.
