Totem Pole (River Gauge)

Totem Pole (River Gauge) symbolizes the respect and recognition of the local Wiradjuri people while highlighting the significance of the mighty ‘Milawa Bila’ Murray River as a life source for local Indigenous groups.

Darren is a Wiradjuri man from Condobolin in the central west NSW. He is a local Aboriginal community leader and renowned artist.

The gauge shows seven flood heights for the Noreuil park area since 1870. Not all the floods were able to be listed on the gauge for artistic reasons.
