The Turtles
Two turtles who appear to wonder down the path beside you at Fredericks park.
AlburyCity answered the call for public art by local community when upgrading Fredrick’s Park in Lavington with the addition of two Turtles who appear to wonder down the path beside you. In addition to a new playground, BBQ and toilet facilities the Turtles proved to be the showstopper for the children; those who use it fondly refer to the park as Turtle Park.
Where
The River
The River is a thought-provoking abstract work which depicts the links between Albury’s cafe culture and the Murray River.
The Fern
Michael Laubli’s single 3.4 meter high fern frond pays homage to all the native fern species nestled in bush land in our region from tree ferns to micro ferns.
Odis the Owl
A symbolic representation of both knowledge and learning associated with Libraries, the Owl also highlights the area’s endangered Barking Owl.
